Backhaul

One of the value-added services offered to all SpaceCom customers is “backhaul”. Backhaul service is simply transporting customer content from a remote location to the Network Operations Center (NOC) at SpaceCom’s Chicago International Teleport (CIT). The NOC then transmits it to one or several of SpaceCom’s satellite services.

SpaceCom routinely engineers, installs and maintains backhaul service for many of its customers. After examining the precise need, SpaceCom can implement terrestrial, SCPC, subcarrier over video or Internet service to transport content to the CIT. Each application is designed to meet SpaceCom’s high reliability standards with automatic back-up transmission capability. Satellite solutions take advantage of existing large antennas (5.6 to 9.1 meters) for reception. Terrestrial solutions take advantage of SONET ring protected telco connectivity provided from multiple Ameritech central offices. Both solutions are deployed with switched backup service to ensure a constant path to the CIT.

Installation Services

SpaceCom Systems offers turnkey installation for all of our Ku-Band services including SpaceLink^SM, FM Cubed^® and FM Squared^®. From start to finish, SpaceCom oversees the installation of a downlink. We order and ship the hardware and then schedule the installation. With access to over 1000 technicians across the country, we are ready to assist you in building your satellite network!

Maintenance Services

SpaceCom’s turnkey services don’t end with installation of a satellite downlink. We can also provide technical support and maintenance to your network. Our network of technicians can be dispatched the same day to troubleshoot your problem site and get your system back up and operational. Mission critical sites can even have a technician on site in as little as 4 hours.
