Uplink ServicesIn a typical network, the data or audio to be broadcast is sent to the CIT using dedicated fiber-optic lines, satellite technology, microwave signals or dedicated phone lines. Data and digital audio transmissions are then uplinked from the CIT on SpaceComs hub antennas and broadcast from the satellite to your receive sites. |

Redundant SystemsThe CIT is a fully protected satellite transmission facility, which is manned 24 hours-per-day by a staff of experienced Operations and Engineering personnel. Uplink RF electronics systems for both C-Band and Ku-Band transmission facilities are in a hot standby configuration, protected by a Two-for-N protection scheme, with video and baseband electronics protected in a One-for-One environment. For added security, a centralized control console and computer monitoring system are specifically designed to provide ultimate flexibility in signal tracking capabilities and maintenance efforts. An automatic alarm monitoring system provides real-time status and transmission quality information to station personnel to verify signal integrity, and a fully redundant power supply system provides a seamless transfer from commercial power to on-site diesel generators when needed. |

Backup Power
SpaceComs uplink is rock solid. Not even power outages can keep your signal from getting through. The primary power at the CIT is provided by two independent Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), which are further backed up by redundant local power generation systems. And, the UPS has the ability to automatically switch without interruption from commercial power to one ofthe on-site, diesel-powered generators in the event of a long-term commercial power outage. This means your satellite service is backed by a continual power source with a complete fall-back system, which gives you completely reliable transmissions . . . and peace of mind. Valuable ResourcesUplink, hub and support services for your satellite transmissions are important factors to consider when choosing a satellite system. Using SpaceCom technology and the Chicago International Teleport guarantees your product will receive the most advanced engineering expertise and the strength and resources of one of the nations largest and best-equipped satellite communications facilities.
Facility ExpansionSpaceCom Systems has completed expansion construction of the telecommunications facility at the Chicago International Teleport. The new $1.25 million facility located on a 15-acre complex in the south suburbs of Chicago, has doubled the previous interior capacity to 11,250 square feet. The Teleport hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to honor the occasion. |
